Even before OnePlus Nord could make its Nord CE 5G official, rumours around the OnePlus Nord 2 have started making their way online. Tentative to debut as the official successor to the OnePlus Nord in July, the recent details around the smartphone give us a hint of what to expect from it.
Much of the specifications of the OnePlus Nord have been hinted at in new leaks, and as per them, the smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. There will be a couple of memory options on the smartphone and a triple-lens camera setup donning its back.
OnePlus Nord 2 is said to get a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Prior leaks around the device have also hinted at a better screen-to-body ratio on the phone as well as a punch-hole for the selfie shooter in the top left corner of the display.
As mentioned, the OnePlus Nord will likely use a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC and will be available in an 8GB RAM and a 12GB RAM variant. While the former will host 128GB of internal storage, the latter will bump it up to 256GB. There are no signs of a 6GB RAM base variant for the smartphone as of now. The leaks have recently been shared by 91mobiles and OnLeaks.
If the leaks hold true, we can expect to see the OnePlus Nord 2 with a triple-lens camera setup on the back, comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor coupled to an 8-megapixel and a 2-megapixel sensor. This means the OnePlus Nord 2 will cut short on the quad-camera setup on the OnePlus Nord seen last year.
