Visa Zone Development Commissioner A. Rammohan Reddy said that permission has been granted for the manufacture of the required remdacivir injections for patients when the second stage of corona is booming. The decision was taken at the monthly unit approval committee (UAC) meeting.
Remediesivir: Dr. Reddy’s Labs under Duvvada Visage has come forward to manufacture these injections and has given permission under special circumstances. Dr. Menon, head of the local unit of Dr. Reddy’s, said … their products will be released in June. The industry is expected to produce 3.5 lakh 100 mg / 1 ml and 7 lakh 500 mg / 5 ml injections.

Pharma major Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd is ramping up production of Remdesivir, which is being used in Covid-19 treatment, and will also be bringing out a liquid product in view of scarcity of the drug in the country.
“We are making every effort to ensure that Dr. Reddy’s Remdesivir, sold under the brand name Redyx, reaches as many patients in India, as possible We are ramping up production and are also bringing to market a liquid product that is faster to make and supply,” the company said in a statement.
The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) will take a final call on the recommendation. If approved, it will be the third COVID-19 vaccine to be available in India.
The vaccine would be imported from Russia for emergency use in the country, they said. In September last year, Dr Reddy’s partnered with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) to conduct clinical trials of Sputnik V and for its distribution rights in India.
