Vodafone Idea has announced that it has paid another Rs 1,000 crore to the government as part of the AGR arrears. With this, the company has so far paid a total of Rs 7,854 crore in four phases.
Earlier, Vodafone had paid Rs 6854 crore to the telecom ministry in three phases.
The judges made some key remarks on the AGR issue during the June 18 hearing in the Supreme Court. They wanted a roadmap on when to pay arrears, how much to pay on time and what security will be given.
Arguments in the case are set to resume on July 20. According to the Department of Telecommunications, Vodafone Idea owes the government a total of Rs 58,254 crore.
